2022 San Diego High School WTT League

What is World TeamTennis?
HSWTT (High School World TeamTennis) is co-ed clubs competing in a format that consists of 6 no-ad sets. One set each of boy's and girl's doubles followed by boy's and girl's singles, ending with 2 sets of mixed doubles. Total games won from all sets determines the winner. What is a WTT team?
A team must have two boys and two girls, as a minimum. (10 players maximum). This allows for periods of rest and missing matches.
Who can play?
Any high school (grades 9-12) student that attends your high school. Each schools' rules and regulations govern who is eligible to play for your club. Please check with your Athletic Department.
When do leagues start?
Play begins January 8th and continues through to February 5th, 2022. All matches played on Saturdays, unless previously arranged. There will be a Winter Festival for all HSWTT Teams at Valhalla High School on February 5th. Matches will begin at 10am unless otherwise noted. Matches typically take 2 hours. More details will be sent to the coaches when the teams are finalized at the sign up deadline.

What Divisions (levels of play) are offered?
This league is primarily targeted towards high school varsity, junior varsity & novice tennis players. It is the expectation that each club will do its best to match up competitively with other teams to make matches equitable, fair and fun.

Where do we play?

Local High Schools will be used for match play.
Can I register as an individual/substitute/team?
Please register your club with all the players that are eligible to participate.

Why register via the Internet?
You are not an official league participant until you have registered online. When you register via the Internet site you will be e-mailed league information during the season and your WTT Member Benefits (WTT Point of Contact Newsletter, discounts on hotel, rental cars, 2 for 1 tickets, plus more).
What is the cost?
No cost for the regular season. Registration fees for the Winter Festival will be posted as soon as possible.
League winners qualify for a National Qualifier?
Winning teams advance to the WTT National Qualifiers. Your team is eligible to participate in a NQ for up to one year from the end date of your league. For every four (4) teams in any official World TeamTennis (WTT) local league division, one (1) team will be eligible to participate in a NQ. Click here for more details.
Local League Information & Rules:
We will follow the standard WTT Rec League rules except we will be playing sets 5 with a 9 point tie-break at 4-4. (Like the WTT Professional League)
